Lose Belly Fat with Fitpass!

Would you like to know how to turn your love handles or beer belly into a six-pack?

Let me tell you that crunches don’t burn belly fat. Exercise is only 5% of the success story.

95% is optimal nutrition & wellbeing including hormonal balance.

There is a myriad of reasons why your body is storing fat around your belly and one of them is the high blood glucose levels.

You might be saying:” But I don’t eat any sugar!”

Remember hormones, the chemical messengers, are regulating your body’s needs.

Maybe you are under physical stress due to intensive or excessive exercise.

Maybe you are under psychological stress as you don’t have your life under control at the moment (work, relationship, burnout, anxiety, fear, anger).

If you have high levels of the stress hormone cortisol, you will also have high levels of sugar in your blood.

That’s because your body is clever. It thinks you are in the “fight or flight mode” and it will automatically increase the blood glucose levels to get you out of danger.

That is a smart solution for short term stress (presentation at work or athletic race) but not for a long term chronic stress.

Insulin, the FAT making hormone comes to help you too. It will remove the excess glucose out of the bloodstream and save it for later in the form of fat around your waistline.

What if you could avoid this unnecessary process of increasing and removing sugar from the bloodstream by choosing the right food and the right type of exercise?

Include a low carbohydrate food such as sweet potatoes, low starch vegetable combined with high-quality protein, nuts and seeds into your daily routine. (See our blog about protein portion in this post)

What kind of exercise should you do? Remember Train, not drain!

Luckily you are a Fitpass member with unlimited sport possibilities.

Choose aerobic exercises such as tennis, swimming, Zumba in combination with core strength training, Pilates or yoga?  Check the diversity of our FITPASS group courses for inspiration.

Is anaerobic exercise such as sprints, HIIT good for you?

That is a topic for our next blog post.
